Bids are a score, not money: they show how far up the ladder you are. They can't be bought, sold or exchanged.
Level 10 is a masterpiece: a famous building or a full-body animal, traced for close to a minute. You get 3 tries. Miss all 3 — or walk away from one — and you go back to level 7, with the 300,000 bids that go with it, and climb again.
The first person to clear level 10 wins the $5 Amazon gift card, delivered by email. The winner is asked for their name, email and address, and to accept the gift, and is shown to every player. The game doesn't stop: everyone can keep playing as usual, and anyone who clears level 10 afterwards joins the Hall of Fame in the order they finished — without a gift, but for good.
Before we send it, we look at the winning drawing. A win that looks automated, copied or otherwise not drawn by a person from memory may be refused, and the gift may then go to nobody. One gift, one winner. There is no cash alternative.
When anyone clears a level, a bubble with their country’s flag, their player name (if they chose one) and the level floats across every player’s screen. Countries are ranked by the furthest level any of their players has reached. Your country is worked out from where your connection appears to come from.
Drawings must be made by a person, by hand, from memory. Scripts, bots, tracing aids, screen recording played back while drawing, or anything else that gets around the memory part are against the rules. So is disguising where you are, and so is using more than one account. We may disqualify players, reset progress or refuse a win when we have good reason to believe the rules were broken, and our decision on it is final.
Nothing here costs money. There is no payment step and nothing to buy, and paying for anything would not improve your chances. Void where prohibited. Open to anyone we can legally deliver the gift to. The gift card is provided by us; this game isn't sponsored, endorsed or run by Amazon.
This is an experiment. We may adjust the shapes, pass marks, waits or other details to keep it fair and playable, and we may pause or end the game. If the game ends before anyone wins, nobody wins. A change never takes away a level you've already cleared, except under the level-10 rule above or for breaking the rules.
To run the game: an anonymous Firebase account id for your device; once you sign in, your Google email and name; the player name you choose; the level you've reached, your best score on each level, your attempts and when you made them; and the country your connection comes from.
Your drawings are kept. Every drawing you submit is stored with its score, the shape it was meant to be, and how long the tracing and your drawing took. We use them to check the game is fair, to tune the pass marks, and to check the winning drawing. Drawings are seen only by us, alongside your player name and country; they are never published or shared.
Public: your player name (or an anonymous one), your country’s flag and your level, on the leaderboard and in the live feed. Your email, your Google name and your address are never shown to anyone. Live feed items delete themselves after a day.
The winner’s details — name, email and address — are used only to deliver the gift, then deleted.
We use Google Analytics through Firebase to see how the game is played, for example how often each level is passed and at what score, so we can keep it fair. Advertising features are switched off, and we never sell or share your information. Everything is stored with Google Firebase.
